Custer staff and members were recognized in an award ceremony and dinner which took place at the Custer Observatory in Stokes Hall. President Bill Bogardus presented the Helping Hands Award to each recipient in recognition of their work at Custer and with the public.

Beautiful Specimen of a Sikhote Alin Meteorite

Maritime Territory, Federated SSR, USSR

46°9’36”N., 134°39’12”E.



Class: Iron Meteorite. Coarsest Octahedrite (IIB)

Fell: Februarty 12, 1947.  1038hrs   

Total known weight: Over 23,000 kg

Notes: The fall of this meteorite produced 106 impact holes up to 28 meters in diameter over an area of 100m x 660m in the thick forest of the Sikhote-Alin Mountains. Many fragments weighing up to 300kg in weight have been recovered.

Another kind of Chem-trail BUT I have no idea what it is!!! The light streak speeding away from the Chem-cloud has appeared to have created this odd shape! (If anyone knows what it is please let me know!)
